The ABB REF615E-C Feeder Protection and Control Relay is a versatile and advanced device designed for the protection, control, measurement,
and supervision of medium-voltage feeders in utility and industrial power distribution systems.
It is part of ABB's Relion® product family and the 615 series,
known for their compact and modular design.
Features
Advanced Fault Detection:
Equipped with multifrequency neutral admittance-based earth-fault protection, enabling selective and directional fault detection in
high-impedance earthed networks. This feature is particularly effective in
identifying transient and intermittent earth faults.
Arc Fault Detection:
Optional hardware and software enhancements allow for arc fault protection, monitoring the circuit breaker,
busbar, and cable compartments of metal-enclosed indoor switchgear.
Autoreclosing Functionality:
Supports three-pole multishot autoreclosing functions for overhead line feeders,
enhancing system reliability and minimizing downtime.
Flexible Configuration Options:
The relay's configuration can be adapted to user-specific application requirements by
combining protection functions with logic function blocks.
Time Synchronization:
Features IEEE 1588 V2 for high-accuracy time synchronization, optimizing
substation-level Ethernet communication.
